The Awards celebrate the pioneering work of RE100 members as they shift to 100% renewable electricity.
Our judges are drawn from across the climate sector and bring a huge amount of expertise, insight and first-hand experience to the judging process. They'll be choosing the winners who will be revealed at Climate Week NYC in September, run in partnership with the United Nations and the City of New York.
Meet the judges
Alex Ju is the founder and CEO of Chindata Group. He is a global advocate for next-generation green hyperscale digital infrastructure and a leader in building digital infrastructure in emerging markets in the Asia Pacific. To date, Mr. Ju Jing has developed a cumulative total of over 1,000MW of campus sites, invested over $10 billion. As a zero-carbon advocate, Alex is committed to leading Chindata Group to build a cluster of interconnected, open, and inclusive hyperscale IT infrastructure bases in Asia-Pacific emerging market countries, promoting the connectivity of digital information infrastructure in Asia-Pacific emerging markets and providing green, sustainable, hyperscale scaling cutting-edge infrastructure for global digital leaders.
Ramiro has more than 20 years’ experience working in sustainable development. He is Director of Climate Change for Latin America at the Avina Foundation. He is currently Senior Policy Advisor to the UN High Level Champions of Climate Action. Since 2008, he has specialised in climate change and energy. Ramiro works with national governments in the implementation of their commitments under the Paris Agreement. In 2014 and 2015, he acted as adviser to the Minister of the Environment of Peru, as President of COP20 on Climate Action.
Sarah is an experienced senior management professional with over a decade of experience in the design, development and implementation of clean energy infrastructure projects, green buildings, and sustainability policies in the US, South Asia and Africa. Currently, she is the Partnerships Director (Acting) for Power Africa-US Agency for International Development (USAID). Sarah also serves as Power Africa’s Industry Lead for energy storage and Senior Liaison for Prosper Africa’s Electricity Sector Support Team. Prior to Power Africa, Sarah worked as a consultant for the World Bank, Acumen Fellow and Operations Officer and as a Project Manager for an affordable housing real estate developer.
Lucy is the renewable power lead at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), a global, CEO-led organisation of over 200 leading businesses working together to accelerate the transition to a sustainable world. Lucy manages the REscale project at WBCSD, convening ambitious companies from the full renewable value chain to collaborate on solutions to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy. Before joining WBCSD in 2018, Lucy spent four years working on low carbon technology and energy efficiency projects at the Carbon Trust.
RE100 Market Trailblazer
Subrahmanyam is the Chief Executive of National Solar Energy Federation of India, an umbrella organisation representing solar energy companies in India. He is the recipient of BRICS Energy for Thought - Young Scientist award – 2018 and BITSAA 30Under30 award. With more than 15 scientific publications to his name, he has been involved in active research on the reliability of solar photovoltaic modules. Subrahmanyam has also been involved in solar skill development and policy deliberation activities and addressed various intergovernmental sessions. He is an alumnus of BITS Pilani and is also the founding chairman of India Africa Youth Energy Forum.
Pierre is Chief Policy Officer at WindEurope, the voice of the wind industry, actively promoting wind power in Europe and worldwide, with more than 400 member organisations in over 40 countries. Pierre leads WindEurope’s policy department covering advocacy, market intelligence, conferences and membership engagement. Pierre has a decade of experience in European climate and energy policy and holds degrees from College of Europe, Paris Catholic Institute and Strasbourg Institute of Political Science.
Reitumetse is the Programme Manager for Climate and Energy at the National Business Initiative. Reitumetse was formerly Director, Mitigation Response Analysis and Director, Climate Change Priority Programmes at the South African National Department Forestry, Fisheries and Environment. She led the analysis and reporting of national mitigation actions to various audiences, including the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. She provided strategic and advisory services in the development and implementation of South Africa’s Climate Change Flagship Programmes. Reitumetse was previously the Senior Manager for Climate Change at EY and Senior Consultant at Camco Clean Energy. Reitumetse holds an MSc from Imperial College, London.
Miho is the Head of Japan and Korea Research Sustainability lead in the Asia Pacific Tokyo Office for BloombergNEF. Her team covers topics including power market, economics of renewable energy and fossil fuels, energy policy and energy demand outlook. She is also a member of the climate change expert panel for the Prime Minister’s Office of Japan. Prior to joining BloombergNEF, Miho developed Bloomberg’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) analytics platform as a senior ESG analyst. Miho holds an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and a BA in Economics from Keio University.
RE100 Key Collaborator
Bruce is the Director of Communications and Business at Eurelectric, a member-led association based in Brussels representing the European electric utility sector. Previously, Bruce was Deputy CEO of SolarPower Europe, Coordinator of the RE-Source Platform – the European alliance for corporate sourcing of renewable energy – and the Founding Chairman of the Global Solar Council, the representative body for the entire global solar PV sector at an international level. Before this, Bruce was Chief Operating Officer at WindEurope for 10 years, founding Secretary General of the Global Wind Energy Council, and Managing Director of FLiDAR, an offshore wind company.
Sarah is the VERGE Energy Conference Chair and senior analyst for GreenBiz Group. Sarah has over ten years of experience in climate, clean energy and politics. She holds Bachelors degrees in politics and environmental studies from Whitman College and was an Annenberg Dean’s Scholar at the University of Southern California, where she earned a Masters degree in communications.
Sarah is the Senior Director for Education and Engagement at the Renewable Energy Buyers Alliance (REBA). She focuses on developing and delivering events and resources to the REBA community to accelerate the movement to renewable energy. Sarah joined REBA from Tata Sons where she led sustainability for North America. Before joining Tata Sons, she was Senior Manager in Deloitte Consulting’s Sustainability for five years. At Deloitte and while at ICF Consulting and GHD Consulting, she worked with retailers, consumer goods companies, governments and small start-ups to measure and manage environmental and sustainability issues and conduct carbon inventories, life-cycle assessments, and develop public reports.
RE100 Enterprising Leader
Joyce is Head of Policy and Projects at the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), an industry association supporting wind power around the world. At GWEC, Joyce manages policy positions for the global wind industry and co-chairs the Business and Investors Group of the IRENA Coalition for Action. She also leads several programmes including the Women in Wind Global Leadership Program and the REvolutionaries clean energy award scheme. Previously, Joyce worked at FTI Consulting, Aegis Advisory and Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Beijing. She holds dual Masters degrees from Peking University and the London School of Economics.
Yusuke is Director of Business Task Force at the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies where he leads on their work supporting corporates and policy actions. He is also the Director of the Secretariat of Japan Climate Leaders' Partnership, an independent business coalition bringing together companies from sectors across Japan to drive corporate ambition for a clean energy transition. Previously, Yusuke was a Senior Analyst at an investment advisory firm and worked at Sanwa Bank (current MUFG Bank). He received the Kaya Award from the Japan Society of Energy and Resources and the Best Awards from the Ministry of Environment in Japan in 2007 and 2010.
Dr Shihfang Lo
Shihfang is a Research Fellow at Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER) in Taiwan. Her research spans the fields of energy and environmental policies, performance evaluation, finance, and corporate social responsibilities. Founded in 1981, CIER is an international policy think-tank for economic and industry-related research. CIER has been the regional delivery partner of Climate Group for RE100 in Taiwan since 2019.
Nam is a journalist who has been writing for The Korea Times since 2013. He covered economy and business from 2016 to April 2021, focussing on energy industry issues and corporate strategies for the transition to renewable power sources. He is now Cheong Wa Dae correspondent for the publication.
