Shifting systems roundtables
To create transformational change radical collaboration is needed with all levels of governments, business, and civil society working towards the same vision. These roundtables asked participants to share their learnings, levers, and best practice when tackling these key climate systems. Each report includes a set of outcomes and recommendations to take action.
Shifting systems – Asia energy

With over 80% of the world’s coal capacity still generated in Asia and with only 15% of its energy demand supplied by renewable sources, the political economy is very well suited to existing and new coal development. We brought together stakeholders from business, policy, civil society, and finance to discuss how to shift the political economy away from coal and create an environment where clean energy alternatives could become the norm.
Globally the use of coal is declining with many coal projects are being shelved, but this
is not happening in Asia. This report outlines the key recommendations from our senior
stakeholders actively striving to make clean power the new normal across the region.
Shifting systems – Finance
On the finance day at COP26, 450 of the world’s largest financial institutions joined the Glasgow Finance Alliance for Net-Zero (GFANZ) - a $130 trillion dollar fund committed to helping the world economy on its pathway to net zero.
In partnerships with Oliver Wyman, we brought together key members of the banking community to discuss 'what next?' - how are banks planning to have a real-world impact and fulfill the commitments they make?
Shifting systems – Industry
Decarbonising industrialised materials - such as steel and concrete – took centre stage at COP26. New ambitious announcements, initiatives, and commitments were made from the public and private sectors.
This session aimed to identify which aspects of our theory of change could be used to shift the concrete sector onto a net zero path. This report lays out the key recommendations and questions raised to support and accelerate the global shift towards the production of net zero concrete.
Shifting systems – Supply chains
Tackling the Scope 3 emissions challenge is the next big frontier for business action. Leading on Scope 3 collaboration has and will continue to require organisations to rethink how they engage and support suppliers.
It is crucial to take a more collaborative approach to co-create solutions and adopt long-term changes that support stakeholders and create value for both buyers and suppliers. But there are still some unanswered questions: how to share data, what to do about reporting fatigue, and who should pay for all of it?
